I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
